Why we built it
We built Stream to solve our own problem.
We didn’t set out to sell a video plugin. On a major WordPress rebuild, we needed to move a growing video library off an expensive platform and run it properly, inside the site we controlled.
Cloudflare Stream was the obvious answer: flat, affordable, global. But there was no serious way to run it in WordPress. So we built one.
Mortise Stream is the tool we needed, hardened and documented until it was good enough to hand to anyone.
