We built Mortise because we lived this.
Mortise grew out of a rebuild we led: a national nonprofit’s ten-year-old website that had fallen behind. A decade of marketplace plugins had piled into conflicts, dead weight, and real security risk, and the site could no longer serve the organization it belonged to.
We rebuilt it on WordPress the right way, replacing the marketplace sprawl with clean, documented, security-audited software cut to how the organization actually works: membership events, a resource library, and brand-licensing tools, all owned outright.
Mortise Stream, our video plugin, came straight out of that work: one real problem we solved for ourselves, now a product anyone can run.
